1. Can inverters be used outside?
Current inverters are UL rated for indoor use. You may use the inverters outdoors if you house them in a sealed casing to protect them from the elements. Outdoor inverters will be available in the future.
2. Are there different ways to backlight an image with Innolite?
- Backlight the entire image.
- Backlight a portion of the image by using opaque inks or reverse vinyl to highlight sub-images or words.
- Create a custom Innolite panel in the shape of the image or word.
3. Are there cost advantages to using Innolite in different ways to backlight an image?
Yes, the cost is derived from the amount of Innolite used. However, setting up custom tooling for screens (to reduce the amount of lit area) is relatively inexpensive when the trade-off is volume. To highlight an area of the image for a small run, a whole panel with opaque inks or reverse vinyl is lowest cost. Adapting one or more smaller standard panels can be appropriate for small to medium size runs. Using custom Innolite panels is the most cost effective for large volume projects.
4. How do CeeLite panels perform in adverse conditions?
Innolite excels in adverse conditions. In foggy, hazy, dusty, etc. conditions, Innolite panels (even the smallest sizes) can be seen for miles. LED's, incandescent lamps and strobe lights produce intrusive light in these situations. To elaborate, they produce a "halo" around the central concentration of light output. Innolite does just the opposite. In adverse conditions, Innolite is one of the most visible light sources available.
Yes. Running a strobe sequence is ok since Innolite panels do not have any real element inside the panel that can be damaged from repetitively turning the panel off and on. Also, running a strobe sequence will increase the panel life considerably.
Standard panels are not waterproof. Additional laminates can be used to waterproof or waterproof panels can be custom ordered. Our technical support group will help you determine the suitable waterproof laminates.
7. Are panels moisture resistant?
Yes. Innolite panels are moisture resistant for most indoor applications.
8. Are panels vibration resistant?
Yes. Innolite is one of the only lighting technologies where vibration has no impact on panel performance.
9. How hot can the environment get before Innolite fails to operate?
122ºF (50º C) and less than 50% Relative Humidity. Store in temperatures ranging from -40ºF (-40ºC) to 176ºF (80ºC).
10. How cold can the environment get before Innolite fails to operate?
It has been tested to -13ºF (-25ºC) and can be stored at -40ºF (-40ºC).
11. Are panels affected by UV?
Yes. Standard panels must be protected from UV with graphic inks, additional laminates, etc. Custom UV protective panels are available from the factory.
12. Can I use panels on a car?
Yes. A 12v inverter must be used. A sign can be attached to the car via a magnetic backing and powered either by direct wiring or through the cigarette lighter. In addition, illuminated windshield graphics could be installed on the car.
13. Can panels be daisy-chained?
Yes.
